IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE OPERATING AT FLYING DIAMOND AIRPARK!

TRANSIENT AIRCRAFT ARE WELCOME ON A PRIOR PERMISSION ONLY BASIS.

Transient and Guest Pilots MUST complete the Prior Permission Request Form found here.

Flying Diamond Airpark is a private, small mountain airpark. The runway has an approximately 2.7% slope. We typically take-off down hill on runway 07, and land up hill on runway 25. Use caution on the final approach to verify that the runway environment is free of animals, vehicles, and other potential hazards. WE ARE A PRIVATE AIRPARK AND THE RUNWAY IS UNSECURED. Be prepared to go around.

There are pilot controlled gates on the road crossing the center of the runway to block traffic when the runway is active. These gates can be closed using 122.925 by clicking your transmit button 5 times within 6 seconds. When activated the gates will close for 2 minutes to allow time for takeoff or landing. For takeoff the gates should be activated 30-40 seconds before starting your takeoff roll. For landing the gates should be activated approximately mid-field on your downwind leg. If you are not radio equipped and cannot operate the gates or communicate your intentions, for your safety and ours, please do not use our runway.

In the interest of being good neighbors we ask pilots not overfly the homes to our north, while airpark residents may love airplane noise, we have had complaints from neighbors to the north. In addition, between noise concerns, our relatively short, sloped runway, and the field elevation, we ask pilots to not do touch and go’s. Benson AP is just 20-30 minutes away and is a great place to practice.

Always check density altitude as it can be a deciding factor in take-off calculations, particularly in the summer months. Please review and follow FAA guidance on airport traffic pattern procedures while using our airport (see FAA AC 90-66C).

When on the ground, vehicle traffic is not allowed on the runway or the runway easement except as approved by the managers in advance. All traffic must remain behind the gate lines during aircraft operations.

Flying Diamond Airpark LLC is not responsible for runway incidents.
